Canonical announces a partnership with Data Foundry, a leading provider of global data centre, colocation and managed services, to offer a fully managed private cloud service powered by OpenStack. The service will be hosted in Data Foundry’s premium data centres and global colocation facilities and operated by its experienced team. The offering includes; Canonical’s BootStack, a managed private cloud service based on Canonical’s reference architecture; and Data Foundry’s state-of-the-art data centres and managed services. It provides the highest quality; most reliable hosted private cloud service.

Data Foundry, headquartered in Austin, TX, owns and operates carrier-neutral data centres in Austin and Houston and manages global colocation facilities in the Eastern and Western United States, Europe and Asia. It serves thousands of enterprise customers in energy, technology, healthcare and financial services industries.

“Our enterprise customers are asking for a private production ready cloud service. They want the flexibility of a hybrid solution in the same data centre. Canonical’s BootStack service will allow us to offer production ready cloud services to our customers with the same excellence that we currently provide data centre and network services,” said Edward Henigin, CTO at Data Foundry. “OpenStack is a fast-developing cloud management platform and we wanted to partner with a team who not only knew it inside and out, but who had assembled a DevOps architecture around it to make it sing. Canonical does just that, and we could not be more pleased to offer OpenStack to our customers.”

Bootstack benefits from Canonical’s extensive experience of building OpenStack clouds for enterprise and telco customers. Experts will build and design, build, manage and support an OpenStack cloud specific for each customer. Then, a cloud can be transferred to the customer when they’re ready to control  the cloud themselves.

Canonical will be exhibiting with the OpenStack Foundation in the Gartner Data Center event in Las Vegas, NV from the 2nd to 5th December. The organisations will showcase the joint value proposition with Data Foundry. Please drop by the OpenStack Pavillion or contact [email protected] for more information.
